IoT-Based Smart Door Lock System

An IoT-enabled smart door lock system is developed in this project to improve convenience and home security. Through wireless communication with Firebase using an ESP8266 microcontroller, the system enables remote access control through a mobile application. While Firebase handles user credentials, access records, and system status, users can effortlessly lock or unlock doors. A relay module controls the locking mechanism, while an RFID module or keypad facilitates local authentication. A predetermined PIN saved in Firebase or OTP verification are instances of additional security measures. For real-time monitoring, the user's mobile device receives notifications about door activity. This system, which combines cloud-based and Internet of Things technology, is scalable and cost-effective, providing a safe, effective, and user-friendly home access solution.
