IoT-Based Automatic Room Light Controller with Person Count

Based on occupancy sensing, an automated light control system is developed in this project to maximize energy consumption. For real-time control and monitoring, the system incorporates Google Firebase with an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module. The count on Firebase is updated by infrared (IR) or ultrasonic sensors at entry and exit points, which measure the number of people in a particular area. To ensure effective energy use, lights automatically turn on when people enter and turn off when the room is empty. Live occupancy data is available through a web and mobile interface, improving the ability to monitor remotely. This system provides a practical way to cut down on energy waste and is made for use in homes, workplaces, and classrooms. It enhances automation in indoor spaces and encourages sustainability with its inexpensive components and wireless connectivity.
