IoT-Enabled Smart Manhole Monitoring System

This project develops an IoT-enabled system that continuously monitors manhole conditions to improve the safety of urban infrastructure. To identify dangers including flooding, the buildup of poisonous gases, and structural damage, the system combines vibration, gas, and water level sensors. Sensor data is processed by an ESP8266 microcontroller and wirelessly transmitted over Wi-Fi to a cloud-based platform for real-time analysis. Authorities can remotely monitor circumstances and get immediate alerts in the event of irregularities due to the collected data's accessibility through a web or mobile interface. By facilitating preventive maintenance, this technology lowers the hazards involved with manual checks. The project ensures effective management of manhole networks in smart city environments by enhancing urban safety, preventing accidents, and optimizing maintenance operations through automated notifications and constant monitoring.
