Social Distancing Detection System for COVID-19 Compliance

This project develops a social distance detecting system to track adherence to COVID-19 guidelines in public areas. Real-time distance calculations are performed by the system using OpenCV for video processing and YOLO (You Only Look Once) object detection for person identification. When social separation is violated, the model warns, which helps enforce health regulations. It does not require additional equipment and can be installed on regular CCTV camera feeds. This application can be tailored for different situations, such as retail stores or public transportation, and by enabling real-time monitoring, it is a useful tool for maintaining public safety during pandemics.
